CHAPTER NINE

Maya couldn’t deny the thrill that shot through her. She wanted to have sex with Alex. No question. Probably had since seeing him in the crowd at the mall. She’d entertained some pretty great fantasies, especially since the pool. But after reading up on everything, she’d realized she was going to need to change her likes-and-dislikes-during-sex list. She liked hard, fast, hold-nothing-back sex.

Rather than writing the whole thing with Alex off, though, she’d found herself adjusting her fantasies. She’d imagined a big bed, silk sheets, candlelight. Slow, luxurious foreplay with lots of hands and tongues before an easy, sensuous pace in missionary. Or better yet, her on top. It wasn’t as if she were opposed to any of those things.

But when Alex backed her up to the wall and pulled her sports bra over her head and stripped her workout pants off, taking her panties with them, her heart leaped. She really did love sex against the wall. And a fast, frenzied pace. Frenzied seemed a good word here.

Alex lifted her, cradling her butt in his big hands, and she wrapped her legs around his waist. He pressed her to the wall, kissing her hungrily. She opened her mouth, and he swept his tongue against hers as his fingers curled into her butt. Maya clutched at his shoulders, desperate to be closer to him, needing to press against all of him.

“Take your pants off,” she said raggedly against his lips.

“Can’t. Don’t want to let go,” he told her.

She had to admit that staying right exactly here sounded great to her. But there needed to be a lot less material.

She wiggled against him. “Need you, Alex. Skin to skin.”

“Like that idea.” He lifted a hand to her breast, cupping it and brushing his thumb over the nipple.

She moaned against his mouth. Okay, that was pretty good.

“But you’re right.” He ran his thumb over it again. “I can’t really get at everything I need. This position will have to wait a bit.”

He let her slide down until her feet touched the floor, but he didn’t move back. He braced one hand on the wall next to her head and ran the other down her side from her breast to her hip. He tipped his head to look down as he touched her but gave her no room to do much more than glide her hands over his chest.

He stroked her outer thigh, then moved up to her stomach, his palm rubbing back and forth until he slid it lower to cup her. He lifted his gaze as he ran his middle finger over her clit.

Maya gasped and grabbed his forearm. She wanted so much more of that.

“You’re gorgeous.” His voice was rough and made the tingles from his finger increase.

She decided to finally give in to the temptation that had been tugging at her when she’d been at the pool with him. She leaned in and rested her forehead against his sternum, pulling in a long breath of his scent. Then she flicked her tongue against his skin where that drop of water had been.
